SOUTH ATLANTIC MEDAL, CHANGES IN ELIGIBILITY
I have been in touch with the RFA Personnel Department (RFA PERS) regarding these changes to eligibility for the South Atlantic Medal and they have sent me the following instructions….
For anyone who believes that they may now qualify for the South Atlantic Medal because of the new time extension, they should write to the address below to apply for the medal. They should also enclose photocopies of the I.D. page and the page showing the relevant appointment, from their Seaman’s Discharge Book.

Please note that RFA PERS will not be able to order any South Atlantic Medals until October 2014.
