The Solent Branch had a busy summer this year with the usual banyan and a cruise up the canal, surprisingly there were no reports of seasickness. Anyway there are loads of photographs in the RFA Asociation Gallery so have a look HERE for the Banyan and HERE for the cruise.
In this photograph, secretly filmed by a team of Channel 4 Investigative journalists branch members are seen preparing to parachute off the bridge to storm the canal boat. These skills were learned during a covert holiday, funded by the “Waterlooville Massif”, at a training camp in Somalia…or was it East Cheam, doesn’t matter.
The Solent Summer Banyan held for the first time at at Schloss Pearce in Emsworth. Here we see Al, prime contender for the “Sonny West RAS Supper Memorial Cup”. “My strategy” said Al “for this predigious award is to put the grub onto the barbeque and leave it there until cooked, I’ll bet my competitors will never think of that”. Celebrity judges, Paul Hollywood and Mary Berry were just two of the celebrities not invited to the event but Mary went on to say that “As long as the sausages did not have a soggy bottom Al was in with a chance this year”.
