If it sounds too Good to be true, it probably is….
Just a few days ago the Prime Minister indicated that Defence would be given some respite from the seemingly endless round of damaging cuts to the nation’s defences. Well it appears that the old adage “If it sounds too Good to be true, it probably is” has been proved correct again.
Earlier in the week Cameron indicated no more cuts, see HERE in the Daily Telegraph 30th January. Even Defence Secretary Phillip Hammond was wrong footed by this and a Whitehall row developed.
In today’s Daily Telegraph (1 February) HERE Defence spending and manpower cuts are back on the menu. All this while we have troops serving in Afghanistan and Mali and have just been committed to Assist in Algeria.
