Ian Povey 2nd Officer RFA Sir Galahad 1982 has died from cancer on 26th August 2022. The funeral was last Tuesday 6th in Newcastle. He was the recipient of the Queens Award for Brave Conduct in 1982, which thoroughly well deserved – he dived into to the troops cafeteria twice to recover some troops trapped in the thick smoke, this without BA. A very efficient and likeable officer who left the RFA in 1985ish and joined the Civil Service in Newcastle.
