Sitrep 2. Funeral Arrangements
It is with much sadness that I report that First Officer (SE) William (Bill) Smith RFA(Retd), Crossed the Bar/Silent Key on 14th April 2018 aged 70, whilst on a Danube River Cruise with his wife Elaine.
Bill was repatriated on Thursday 26th April and is presently resting at funeral directors Hayes and Parkinson, Kendal (HERE for their website and HERE for a map).
Bill’s funeral will be conducted at the Castle Green Hotel Kendal (HERE for their website and HERE for a map) at 12:00 on Tuesday the 8th of May and will consist of a service of thanksgiving for Bill’s life followed by interment at Parkside Road Cemetery (HERE for their website and HERE for a map). Old shipmates and colleagues will be very welcome for the funeral and will be invited to join the family afterwards for refreshments.
Family flowers only but donations, in Bill’s name, and if desired should be made to The British Heart Foundation (HERE for their website)and/or Diabetes UK (HERE for their website ) in lieu.
