It is so much sadness that I report that CPO(D) Mick Halkiadakis RFA (Retd) crossed the bar on Wednesday 4th March 2020 after a battle with cancer. He was 82 and had been living in Spain (Benalmadena Pueblo) for some years since he retired. He was over in UK very recently and had been admitted to the South Tyneside Hospital in South Shields prior to his return to Spain.
Mick was not a member of our Association but was very much part of the RFA Family.
I have spoken to Val, his widow, and she tells me that Mick’s Funeral and cremation took place on Saturday 7th March 2020 near his home in Benalmadena Pueblo (HERE for a map)
On behalf of the RFA Association I extend our sincere condolences to Val, his two children, his grandchildren and great grandchildren and to all his family.
If you have any remembrances of Mick please email it to me at captain.pat@rfaa.uk and I will post them on this page. Alternatively you can post to our facebook page “RFA Crossed the Bar”. I am also looking for photographs of Mick for this piece and the RFA Association Gallery and Archive, if you have one please email it to me.
Val was also kind enought to send me these photographs of Mick:-
