It is with so much sadness that I announce that Captain, The Reverend Peter J McCarthy OBE Crossed the Bar on Saturday 6th July after a long illness, he was 88 years old. He died at his home in Ferrensby, near Knaresborough.
A short service of committal will be held on Wednesday 17th July at 12:20 at Harrogate Crematorium (HERE for their website and HERE for a map) followed by a Requiem Mass at approximately 13:00 in his Church, Holy Trinity Knaresborough, (HERE for their website and HERE for a map) then afterwards at the Church Hall. No Flowers at the request of the family but donations in lieu and if desired should be made to the RNLI.

Dick Elsey writes:- The photo of Peter taken in 1961 when he was Ch. Officer in Reliant, brought back many happy memories, he is remembered by me as kind and considerate to us unruly juniors!! He accepted our many escapades with ‘fatherly’ good humour! now gone on to glory R.I.P. Peter.
