CAPTAIN DAVID SHENNAN – Crossed the Bar

Crossed the Bar

It is with great sadness I have to tell you that we have had messages from Australia via Peter Harrison and Martin Troman stating that Captain David Shennan (Mem No 0105) of Geelong, Victoria has crossed the bar after a long battle with cancer.  We send our sincere condolences to his family and friends.
There will be a memorial service for him in the UK later in the year, and details will be promulgated when they are known.

UPDATE – Memorial for Captain David Shennan details:

Captain David Shennan’s family would be delighted to be joined by any of his RFA shipmates at a memorial gathering to be held in the Princess Royal Gallery, National Museum of the Royal Navy, Portsmouth Harbour on Friday, August 18th from 11.30am. Tributes will be at approximately 12pm, with a luncheon to follow.

David’s family is hungry for stories about his life in the RFA, so please consider coming along and raising a glass to him while reminiscing about his and your own time at sea.

An idea of numbers would be appreciated for catering purposes, so it would be appreciated if you could advise Joanna by DM or at joanna@northandtrew.com before August 14. Dress code smart casual/business attire.
