Crossed the Bar

It is with so much sadness that I report that Captain David Garside (Formerly RFA). (Member number 0403) crossed the bar on Friday 26th Jun 2020 aged 81  Due to the Covid19 restrictions  it will be a private funeral followed by cremation at Emstrey Crematorium, Shrewsbury (HERE for their website and HERE for a map) on Tuesday 14th July 2020 at 11:30. There will be no wake but David’s wife Chris has asked that old collegues and shipmates “Raise a Glass” to David as he takes his final voyage.

On behalf of the RFA Association I offer our sincere condolences to his wife Chris, daughter Gail and son Nicholas and three grandchildren.

After David left the RFA he continued his seagoing career with Nigerian National Lines and retired as Harbourmaster at Kings Lynn
