BOB DART, PO(E) PUMPMAN, CROSSED THE BAR. SITREP2 (250)

Crossed the Bar

It is with much sadness that I pass on a report that PO(E) Pumpman Robert Arthur (Bob) Dart has crossed the bar on 29th June 2015 aged 84 after a short illness.

Bob served for  35 years as a  PO(E) Pumpman serving in various ‘Rover Class’ vessels and  in three theatres of war, he was a South Atlantic Medal holder.

A humanist service funeral service will be held at 1130 on Thursday 9 July at  Stockmans Funeral Home, Preston, Paignton. (HERE for their website and HERE for a map) followed by a private cremation. Former shipmates and colleagues will be most welcome to attend the service and an invitation to the wake will be offered to attendees.

At the request of the family it will be family flowers only but donations in Bob’s memory should be made to the Rowcroft Hospice (HERE for their website), there will also be a collection at the service.

The Plymouth branch will be providing an RFA Ensign for the funeral.

Bob was a lifelong batchelor, on  behalf of the RFA Association I offer our sincere condolences to all his family.

If you have a remembrance of Bob please email it to me at deputy.chairman@rfaa.uk and I will post them on this page. I am also looking for photographs of Bob for this piece and the RFA Association Galery and Archive, If you have one please email it to me.
