September 2013.
Merchant Navy Day. The annual Merchant Navy Day Commemorative Service organised by the Merchant Navy Association, will be held in Trinity Gardens, Tower Hill, London (Look HERE for a map) on Sunday 8th September 2013 and this year it will especially remember the 70th Aniversary of the Battle of the Atlantic. It is expected that Trinity Gardens will be open to the public at 11:30. Those wishing to parade should assemble in Mark Lane, off Great Tower Street at 12:15. The parade will “march off” at 12:30 arriving at Trinity Gardents some 3 minutes later. Those not marching should assemble in the upper garden before the parade enters for the salute.
October 2013
The Annual National Service for Seafarers at St Pauls, London, (HERE for a map). This prestigious event organised by the Flying Angel Missions to Seafarers will take place at St Pauls on Wednesday 16th October 2013 at 17:00. If you are able to attend is is well worth it. Dave Cooper, Secretary of the London Branch is co-ordinating this event, contact him for more details HERE. This is an ALL TICKET event and you will be required to bring some photo identification.
November 2013
The National Service of Remembrance at the Cenotaph, Whitehall, (HERE for a map). Organised by the Royal British Legion, this will take place in Whitehall on Sunday 10th November at 11:00 and participation in the march is an ALL Ticket EVENT. The RFA Association has been allocated 10 tickets and we are looking for members to participate in this national event. If you can make it we will be delighted to see you there. The Remembrance Day Service Tower Hill. This event organised by the Honourable Company of Master Mariners takes place at the Merchant Navy Memorial, (HERE for a map) concurrently with the service at Whitehall i.e Sunday 10th November at 11:00
