SO1 KEN TEMPERTON FORMER RNSTS, CROSSED THE BAR

Crossed the Bar

It is with much sadness that I report that Ken Temperton who was SO1 RFA Personnel in ESB days until the move from the Dockyard to Whale island in approximately 2005, crossed the bar on Wednesday 10th February aged 72.  Prior to his position at RFA Personnel  he was a MoD Auditor and completed his career in the Civil Service as a member of the Darwin Team, retiring in March 2012.  Ken was not a member of our association but was, of course, a member of our RFA family.

Ken was a supporter of the Merchant Seamans War Memorial Society that encompasses Springbok Farm Estate that provides seafarers with sheltered housing and support, he served as a Director there from April 2007 to April 2016, he was also a Director of the Merchant Navy Welfare Board from May 2005 to May 2011.

Ken had a passion for motor racing especially Le Mans 24 Hours and classic jaguar cars, so much so he restored an early E-Type

On behalf of the RFA Association I offer our sincere condolences to his widow Veronica and all his family. If you have and remembrances of Ken please email me at captain.pat@rfaa.uk and I will post them on this page.  Alternatively, you can post to our Facebook page “RFA Crossed the Bar”.  I am also looking for photographs of Ken for this piece and the RFA Association Gallery, if you have one please email me,
