URGENT CREW REQUEST FOR MV JUBILEE HOPE
I have just heard from Willie McPherson of the Vine Trust that they have a volunteer and he is flying out tonight (17 April) to Durban to complete the voyage to Mombasa. Mr McPherson tells me since the posting here, on our facebook and twitter pages that he has received a number of offers of help and he sends his thanks to the RFAA for their assistance in this matter. He also promised to send me, after easter, some more details of the ship’s progress.
Vine Trust a UK based charity is in the final stages of delivering an ex RN Fleet tender (Dunster) renamed Jubilee Hope to Mombasa Kenya from where she will be transported some 520 miles overland to Lake Victoria where she will begin a new life as a floating medical clinic serving some of the 153 island communities in the Tanzanian sector of the lake.
The project urgently needs a suitably qualified skipper, RYA offshore, deck officer, to captain the vessel from Durban to Mombasa.
The vessel arrives in Durban on Thursday 17th April. All expenses and flights will be paid by Vine Trust www.vinetrust.org the voyage will take 12 days.
Please contact Willie McPherson on 07720 893450 willie@vinetrust.org if you can possibly assist.
The present skipper requires to return to duties with the USCG Service.
