Dedication Ceremony of the RFA National Memorial
The dedication of our long and eagerly anticipated National memorial will take place at
The National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas, Staffordshire, look HERE for their webpage and HERE for a map, in the presence of our Patron and Commodore in Chief of the RFA, HRH The Earl of Wessex KG GCVO, on 11 October at 13:00. It will be appropriate to wear medals at this occasion.
SITREP 1:- Applications for tickets for this event and afterwards are now CLOSED although we still look forward to any members attending the ceremony.

The timings for this event are as follows :-
11:45 Standard Bearers assemble for briefing and rehearsals.
12:30 Guests assemble
13:00 Startex, Ceremony begins
13:40 Ceremony concludes, invited guests for refreshments
14:20 VVIPs depart
15:30 Endex PIAWPO (I haven’t used that for years)
All RFAA members are welcome to attend the dedication service itself but regrettably only named guest will be able to attend the reception afterwards. Application for the guest list is now closed.
Ladies should note that there will be an opportunity during the service to lay flowers at the memorial in memory of a loved one

MEMORIAL FUND CLOSURE.
The RFA Memorial will be dedicated on 11 October and on this date the memorial fund will be officially closed. We are sincerely grateful for every ship, every organisation and every individual who has helped us raise the necessary funding not only for the building of the memorial but also for the ongoing care it will require for some years to come.
