FORCE4, ISSUE 6, SUMMER 2015

General News

On 28th July “Force 4, Issue 6, Summer 2015” went out to all members of the Association who have declared an email address, some 456 of 667 in total, or 68% of our members. The mailing generated 32 bounced e-mails:-

6 Soft Bounces

While there are many reasons an email address may soft bounce, below are some common reasons this could happen.

  • Mailbox is full (over quota).
  • Recipient email server is down or offline.
  • Email message is too large.

26 Hard Bounces.

While there are many reasons an email address may hard bounce, below are some common reasons this could happen.

  • Recipient email address does not exist.
  • Domain name does not exist.
  • Recipient email server has completely blocked delivery.

A couple of the Hard Bounces were down to me (mea culpa) in that the information in our database was incorrect and I have made, in this couple of cases, the necessary changes but others weren’t.

So I am looking for a few things here:-

If you have declared an e-mail address to us, please check the Members Handbook to ensure your details are correct and if not, let Dawn know dawn@rfaa.uk info me deputy.chairman@rfaa.uk

If you haven’t, consider doing it (you can always set up a Gmail or similar account and bin it later if you feel you are getting unwanted stuff and set up another, remembering to let us know of course vide the email addresses in the preceding paragraph).

What you are missing if you don’t:-

PDF copies of the 4th edition of Gunline dated February 1986 and, the Force4 Colour Supplement not to mention the latest and future events for the RFAA.

So if you haven’t got a copy and would like a copy, email me at force4@rfaa.uk , not forgetting to include your membership number and I will do the biz.
