Merchant Navy Day 16 September 2012 12:30.
The Royal Naval Volunteer Band Association will lead the parade of Merchant Navy Standards and Standards of other Associations, followed by serving and retired Merchant Seafarers with other Organisations, leaving Mark Lane (Great Tower Street) for Trinity Square Gardens at 12.30 hours.
The Principal Guest, First Sea Lord Admiral Sir Mark Stanhope GCB OBE, will take the salute upon arrival of the Parade in Trinity Square Gardens. The multi-faith Commemorative Service and wreath-laying will be held at the Merchant Navy Memorial.
This Annual Service is held on the Sunday in September close to Merchant Navy Day, 3rd September, in memory of Merchant Seafarers who died in World Wars I and II and in conflicts up to the present day. After the Service, a “Sea of Red Ensigns” will be placed in the lawn at the Sunken Garden, in memory of lost Merchant Seafarers.

The Annual National Service for Seafarers 2012, 10th October 2012 17:00
This event arranged by the Missions to Seamen will be held, as usual, at St Pauls Cathedral, London. The RFA Association will parade the National and London Branch Standards at this event. It is a ticket only event and will be coordinated by Richard Fearnley of the London Branch (contact details in the Member’s Handbook) Security is always quite tight at this event and any member attending will be required to provide suitable photo ID.
Dedication of the RFA National Memorial, Alrewas 11 October 2012 13:00.
This long awaited memorial commemorating the Royal Fleet Auxiliary will be dedicated by HRH The Earl of Wessex, our Patron and Commodore in Chief of the RFA, at the National Memorial Arboretum, Staffordshire.
The RFA Association will be parading the National, London and Plymouth Branch Standards.

Remembrance Sunday. The Cenotaph, Whitehall, 11 November 2012 11:00
The Annual National Service of Remebrance will be held, as usual, on Remembrance Sunday which this year falls on 11 November. This is a ticket only event and the RFA Association will be coordinated by Richard Fernley of the London Branch (contact details in the Member’s Handbook). The RFA Associations has 12 tickets Allocated. A wreath will be laid.
