It is with so much sadness that I report, belatedly, that Chief Officer(E) David (Dave) Pendlebury  RFA(Retd) crossed the bar on Friday 10th July 2020 aged 60.

Dave, who lived on the Orcadian Island of Sanday (HERE for map) was cremated on Monday 13th July 2020 at the Inverness Crematorium (HERE for their website and HERE for a map), the arrangements having been made by John G. Corse of Kirkwall (HERE for their website and HERE for a map). Dave’s ashes will be returned to Sanday and his final resting place

Dave was not a member of our Association but was, of course, a part of the extended RFA Family.

I have no more information at the moment but will, of course, sitrep this page with any updates.

On behalf of the RFA Association I offer our sincere condolences to his fiancée Bridget Sinclair and all his family, they had no children., However there were two sons from an earlier marriage, Jamie, and Matthew (who predeceased him).

If you have any remembrances of Dave please email it to me at captain.pat@rfaa.uk and I will post them on this page. Alternatively you can post to our facebook page “RFA Crossed the Bar”. I am also looking for photographs of Dave for this piece and the RFA Association Gallery and Archive, if you have one please email it to me.
