After 5 years in post managing one of our most important functions, Welfare Director, Bob Settle has decided that it is time to step aside and allow some new blood into the systems. He retires with immediate effect but remains a Trustee for the time being. On behalf of the Board of Trustees, the Membership and all those who have benefitted from our Welfare organisation I thank Bob for all his time and efforts as Welfare Director.
Bob has been relieved by Trustee Martin Troman:-
Some of you will know Martin from sailing together and others will know him as the NAUTILUS UK rep working in HQ representing members at pay and conditions negotiations and involved in welfare cases. He began his career as a Radio Officer and rose to Chief Officer(SE). He became a trustee last year and has now taken on the Welfare role from Bob Settle. Given his experience while working ashore, he will be a great asset to the Association slow but steady requests for welfare assistance. Martin can be contacted by phone, it’s in the book or by email at welfare@rfaa.uk.org.uk . We all wish Martin every success in his new appointment.
