Captain Dale Worthington OBE Retires
After 44 years at sea, 40 of them in the RFA, Dale Worthington will finally swallow the anchor for the quiet life ashore. After 4 years with British India Steam Navigation Dale joined the RFA in 1972 as Third Officer and rose to Command. His last ship, RFA Fort Rosalie will make a visit to Merseyside on the 7th January on her return from the middle east.
Dale Worthington, who is married to Hilary and has four adult children, said: “It will be an emotional moment when I make my last walk down the ship’s gangway. But after 44 years at sea, I am looking forward to spending more time with my wife and family, and spending time walking in North Wales, golfing and mastering fly-fishing.
