AB EMMANUEL ATTARD CROSSED THE BAR

Crossed the Bar

It is with much sadness that I pass on this report from Peter Robinson that Able Seaman Emmanual Attard crossed the bar on the 17 January 2020. at his home in Australia. Apart from Mr Robinson’s report I have no more details at all despite my investigations but I continuie to research this report and will sitrep this page when anymore details become available. Given Emmanuel’s service in the Suez Crisis way back in 1956 and assuming he was a young man of around 20(ish) that would make his age at the time of his decease 88

Emmanuel was not a member of our Association but was a member of the extended RFA family.

On behalf of the RFA Association I offer our sincere condolences to all his family.

Mr Robinson’s report.

“I would like to inform you that on the 17th January 2020, Mr Emmanuel Attard, a former A/B who sailed out of Malta crossed the bar at his home in Australia.  Emmanuel served in the RFA during the Suez Crisis in 1956, and was awarded the Naval General Service Medal, with Near East Clasp, something he was extremely proud of, as was he about his service in the RFA.

If you have any remembrances of Emmanuel please email it to me at captain.pat@rfaa.uk and I will post them on this page. Alternatively you can post to our facebook page “RFA Crossed the Bar”. I am also looking for photographs of Emmanuel for this piece and the RFA Association Gallery and Archive, if you have one please email it to me.
